Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome presents as pain or discomfort (common at night) in the thumb and first two fingers. It is a disorder caused by inflammation in the hand that compresses the median nerve that runs through the carpal tunnel of your wrist.

Carpal tunnel Syndrome is associated with repetitive hand movements but can also occur secondary to another health condition. As such, prevalence is higher with arthritis, in diabetics, thyroid disease or during pregnancy.
