Spinal Decompression
Do you have neck or back pain?
Our physiotherapy team use Nonsurgical Spinal Decompression for many neck and back disorders. The treatment involves using a highly advanced spinal traction device that functions to apply distractive tension (stretching), with alternating phases of relaxation, on the spine.
It is an excellent option, when combined with a comprehensive physiotherapy treatment regimen. Spinal Decompression avoids the normal risks associated with invasive procedures such as injections, anesthesia or surgery. During the initial evaluation our team will determine if this tool is appropriate to best address your particular needs.
The therapy is thought to create negative pressure within the spinal disc, allowing herniated or protruded matter to be pulled back into proper alignment. It may also help promote the movement of nutrient-rich fluids, water and oxygen into damaged discs in order to maximize healing. Some people have even avoided spinal surgery due to treatment.*
Computer settings on the device are customized that allow our physiotherapists to offer targeted solutions to your specific needs. Our treatments also allow the isolation of spinal discs in different dimensions, which maximize effectiveness.
Spinal Decompression may be a good option in the following cases:
- Bulging or Protruding Discs
- Herniated Discs
- Degenerative Disc Disease
- Chronic Neck and Back Pain
- Chronic Headaches
- Facet Syndrome
- Nerve Root Compression (Radiculopathy)
- Sciatica
- Scoliosis
- Stenosis
